Find Inner Peace at Japanese Curry Zen

People deal with stress differently. Some like working out or playing sports. The more adventurous would take trips out of town or out of the country. The simple ones would just lie in bed and have a Netflix marathon. Then, there are people like me, who would grab an absolutely satisfying meal and feel relaxed.

Lying in the heart of Chinatown is Japanese Curry Zen, where they serve different meals with the owner/chef's very own curry recipe. They use more than 10 different spices, which all have health benefits. They've been in operation for four years now and don't have any plans of slowing down.

At all curry places I've visited, I'll always order the beef curry rice. Needless to say, I got the same choice here. With just a whiff of the aroma, it will already make you hungrier. The beef was really soft and served with just the right amount of rice. Their original curry sauce went beyond expectations and will definitely tickle your taste buds.

Beef Curry - $9.95

You have the option of having white rice, brown rice or 16 grain rice (add $1.00).

If you're into spicy food, then you'll love this! You have ten levels of blaZENess to choose from. Can't take the heat? Don't worry. You can always let them know you prefer your food without any spiciness.

My personal favorite and a definite must try add-on would be the Takoyaki, or as others would call them, octopus balls. It's made of wheat-flour based batter and bits of octopus on the inside. They're always served hot and fresh off the pan.

Takoyaki - $4.50

Great food combined with a very cozy ambiance and very polite staff, who will always make sure to let you know how much they appreciate you, you'll be Zen!
